1. Turn off all your lights when you’re not home.
2. unplug your appliances that you don’t use often, or unplug them when you aren’t home if you don’t need them to be running (pc, xbox, coffee maker, etc)
3. invest in high-efficiency appliances
4. reduce your shower time and turn down the temp. on your hot water heater
5. recycle
6. install solar panels
7. turn down your thermostat or install a timer to control the temp while you’re out and turn it up or down depending on when you’re home
When you do laundry do it all at one time. If you do one load one day and the next another it is wasting more energy because the dryer will stay hot and wont take as much energy to reheat
Get a energy efficient washer, dryer, and refrigerator. Turn off the computer at night. dont leave phone chargers in the plug in all the time
idk much more ill think later
hope these help
Looks like all the answers are good they pretty much gave you all the other ways…..Keeping your lights off is a real big one.
The biggest energy draw in the average home is the HVAC system. An efficient system will draw far less energy than a non-efficient system. Start by changing the filter and cleaning the coils. This by itself is a quick an easy way to save energy.
Fixing drafty exterior doors and windows will prevent your heater from running as often this winter.
Switching to CFL bulbs and replacing the incandescents is huge.
Turning off lights when not in a room is a no-brainer that many people do not think of.
you need to switch of at the point the power switches that your not using as they leak green house gases.
dont use the dryer
try to turn off the tv when you arnt watching a specific programme
I removed light globes that i dont use so they cant be left on…. and always turn off a light behind you.. just leave the one you use on at the time in the area
rug up for winter with no heating… its there if you need it..but those sheepskin boots and the little sausages you place around the door cracks work wonders….. its great for the skin and dehydration too to not have on the heater or aircon
replace light bulbs with energy efficiency ones
use energy saving windows
don’t leave lights on
don’t leave computer/tv on when not using , use energy saving mode
avoid heating cooling all long as possible
get solar panels
get wind generator
Buy an In-Ground House, or build one.
Put plastic over the windows, during cold times, like the winter.
Make sure your house is properly insulated, and up to code.
Buy energy saving light bulbs.
Buy products that have the Energy Star on it.
Go Solar, hook Solar panels up and wire them to a seperate panel box.
Put different flow valvues on your water faucets. Gallons Per Minute.
Buy a water saving Toilet, that has a lower GPM.
Turn lights off when not using them.
recycle your soda cans.
Theres so much you can do. or should I say, theres too much to write down here, to answer this question to the fullest, but those options that I have given you, even the first answer should automatically give me BA.
@ Don’t let TV in stand by switch it off
@ Don’t let water heating on all day just to use it at night
@ Use energy saving lamps
@ Don’t let unnecessary lights on
@ Switch off computer when not in use
@ Switch off computer peripherals such printer, modem, sound system when you are not using them even if you are using the computer
@ Close outdoors when using heating system
@ Use proper cooker burner (not to big and neither too small)
@ At night use more blankets instead of increasing heating system
@ Plan and sort your laundry so as to have always a filled up washing machine.
All that other stuff and . . .
Make Styrofoam plugs for your north facing windows, check occasionally for moisture build up
Put filled water bottles/milk containers in your refrigerator to take up all available space, keeps it colder, and lets less warm air in when you open the door.
If you use candles, get a candle heater, a special radiator assembly that sits above the candle and harvests the heat — there is also a low wattage electric candle you can use. (put candle heater in google)
If you heat with wood, or have a single point heat system, get a Heatstick tm Fan — it sucks the warm air off the ceiling and puts it back on the floor.
Check out passive solar window box heaters, if you have a south facing window you can get free heat from the sun

Stay in a motel!
If you have a PS3 or XBOX 360, you need to turn off the power switch in the back when you are done using it. That little light that stays on costs about $150 a year! Also avoid watching movies on consoles, they suck 5 times more power than a stand alone DVD player.
Unplug chargers. They still suck up energy when nothing is attached to them. They’re like energy vampires.
Don’t leave your lights on, turn them off when not using. turn off your t.v and turn your computer to Stand by or low power mode when not in use. don’t leave your water on when your brushing your teeth and don’t let the sinks drip water. try to compost, recycle, and reuse as much as you can and not trowing away things.
